BFC Chicken Burger - KFC Inspired Vegan Chicken Burger

The BFC Burger recipe is finally here and it's a hit! Made with the delicious and guilt-free Harmless Plant Based Chicken, this burger is sure to satisfy any craving. The house made chicken coating adds a crispy texture that compliments the juicy, succulent plant-based chicken patty. The combination of the signature Burger Sauce and Pepper Mayo adds a bold and tangy flavor, making every bite a burst of flavor in your mouth. This recipe was the TOP SELLING BURGER at the cafe, and now you can enjoy it in the comfort of your own home.

Chicken Coating:

  • 4 Harmless chicken chunks (long enough to cover burger bun surface)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon celery salt (optional)
  • 1 cup plant milk (we use soy milk)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying


Burger Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayo
  • 2 tbsp American Mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp White vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp Gherkin Relish 
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder


Pepper Mayo:

  • ½ cup vegan mayo
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp cracked pepper


Burger Ingredients: 

  • 2x Burger Buns
  • Iceberg Lettuce
  • Red Onion
  • Vegan Cheese



  1. Cut the Harmless chicken breasts into Burger Size pieces
  2. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, paprika, salt, thyme, basil, oregano, black pepper, white pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. In a separate shallow dish, pour the plant milk
  4. Dip each chicken piece in the plant milk, then roll it in the flour mixture until fully coated. Repeat the process with all of the chicken pieces. )Coat twice for best results)
  5. In a large, deep frying pan, heat about 3 - 4 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. 
  6. Deep Fry the coated Harmless chicken pieces in the hot oil until they are golden brown and fully cooked, about 2 - 4 minutes. Drain the Harmless chicken pieces on a paper towel-lined plate to remove any excess oil.
  7. Grill burger bun until golden brown
  8. Spread  desired pepper mayo amount of the bottom of each bun
  9. Spread desired burger sauce amount of the top bottom of each bun
  10. Place thinly sliced Ice burg lettuce on the bottom bun/pepper mayo
  11. Place thinly sliced red onion rings on the lettuce 
  12. Place the Deep Fried Harmless Chicken on the burger
  13. Cut a thin slice of cheese, place on top of Harmless Chicken. (If you have a gas torque to melt the cheese then this is suggested) 
  14. Place top bun together and Dam you have our famous BFC burger
